A woman approaching 50
Feeling stifled in her job, feeling contained and repressed and stagnating in her life. She though she needed to move; to move jobs, even to move countries.
After we had worked together for a short while she realised that what she really wanted was a sense of freedom. She found that she had limited herself and her options: thinking she had no choice in her work situation, in living in the city where she lived, in her ability to really do what she wanted to do.
Several years on, she is still in the same job, living in the same city but found the power to choose. This brought her the real freedom she had been looking for, which overflowed into every area of her life.
A corporate executive in his early 60’s
Working up to 16 hours a day, sometimes working 7 days a week. It was not long hours nor exhaustion that we focused on but rather his life in relation to his work. He was highly successful in his role, respected by his staff and highly valued by his employers, but the rest of his life did not get a look in.
We worked on balance.
In working with him he learned to balance his work life in relation to the rest of his life; he learned to delegate effectively, to not take on responsibility for the whole world; he took an extended holiday with his wife and was even offered the top job in his state. He began making succession plans and even began to plan for a fulfilling retirement. As his life balanced out, his work became even more successful, but best of all, his life became fulfilling as well.

Wanting to fulfil a deep yearning to express her artistic self. It had been strong in her youth but she had put it on the back burner while life took its course. Art was the last thing she had time for and yet it filled her every thought whenever there was a moment’s gap, but not in a way that was productive.
After a period of working together, she began finding space: space for herself, space to think, space to allow her imagination to roam free again. She gained a better flow in running her household, found an even mix between life and work, and most of all she found her creative heart again, reawakened her love of art and was able to express it freely. She found her juice again.
